Art & Prints
Original art, prints, and vintage lithographs.
Signed prints, oils, watercolors, and framed works pulled from estates. Verifying artist, edition, and period wherever possible.
Prints, oils and framed works from estates are often better than their frames suggest. We look at the medium, the signature and the edition before anything else.
What to look for in art & prints
- Medium
- Original oil or watercolour, limited-edition print, or open-edition reproduction — each is a different market.
- Edition numbering
- A pencil fraction such as 27/250 in the lower margin indicates a limited edition.
- Signature placement
- Pencil signatures in the margin usually mean hand-signed; a signature within the printed image may be part of the plate.
- Paper and foxing
- Brown spotting, acid burn from old mats and light fading all affect value.
How we list art & prints
We verify artist, edition and period wherever the work allows, and we say clearly when a piece is unattributed or the signature is illegible.
Framed works ship glass-removed or corner-protected depending on size, and oversized pieces may need a shipping quote before purchase.
Common questions
Is a signed print valuable?
It depends on the artist, the edition size and whether the signature is hand-applied in the margin or printed within the image.
Can foxing be removed?
A paper conservator can often reduce it, but treatment costs should be weighed against the value of the work.
Do you ship framed art?
Yes, with corner protection and rigid packing. Very large frames may require a custom shipping quote.
